Saroj Khan’s Unmatched Choreographic Legacy

Some songs remain alive forever for their music and some for their dance moves, Saroj Khan gave us the entire library of the latter.

Choli Ke Piche Kya Hai’… Gets our body moving with the lyrics as it plays anytime anywhere. Yes? The song would have probably been melodious and a hit track if would be only an audio, but as Madhuri Dixit danced on it, it gave the song a forever kind of a life. Truly, some songs remain alive forever for their music and some for their dance moves. Our favourite superstar actresses captivate us with their dancing. However, their flawless steps result from grueling, intense rehearsals overseen by Bollywood’s top choreographers. Much we praise the dance moves of the stars, less we acknowledge the excellence of the choreographers. We lost one of such an excellent choreographers, Saroj Khan today, let us have a look at these pictures back from the time.

Saroj Khan’s Successful Career

Her career spanned four decades and she worked with majorly all the superstars and gave them dance lessons. Including Madhuri Dixit, SriDevi and Some songs remain alive forever for their music and some for their dance moves, Saroj Khan gave us the entire library of the latterto Kareena Kapoor Khan she worked with almost everyone. She was Bollywood’s Mother of Choreography.

A three-time National Award winner, her songs remain iconic. Her dance style, defined by grace, magic, and facial expressions, is unforgettable. Her notable works include Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Ek Do Teen’.  Sridevi’s ‘Hawa Hawai’, and Aishwarya Rai’s ‘Nimbooda’. We also remember her bests with other superstars: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s ‘ Ye Ishq Hai,’ Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Ghani Bawri Ho Gayi’, Alia Bhatt’s ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’,  Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane,’ Shilpa Shetty’s ‘Chura Ke Dil Mera’, Urmila Matodkar’s ‘Tanha Tanha Yaha Pe Jeena’, Manisha Koirala’s ‘Badi Mushkil Baba Badi Mushkil’, and Karishma Kapoor’s. ‘Pucho Zara Pucho’.  

As Kareena Kapoor Khan rightly points down her learnings from Saroj Khan, “Pair nahi chala sakte, toh kam se kam Face chalao” . That’s so exactly like her! That’s what she explained almost everyone, to dance through face, to smile through eyes and to hypnotise with expressions!

We will miss the iconic Hindi Cinema Choreographer Saroj Khan!
