Bollywood films are known for their unpredictability, with surprise twists, memorable cameos, and show-stopping performances that leave audiences cheering. The larger-than-life plots, vibrant dance sequences, and melodramatic dialogues all add to the magic of Indian cinema. These surprise cameos have added an extra dose of excitement to the film which is most unexpected.

To name a few that surprised the audience by their appearance … with the cameos.

The first few films that come to our mind of a cameo role are Animal wherein Bobby Deol who plays a vibrant Abrar Haque who goes up against Ranbir Kapoor’s character but is almost parallel to the main lead.

Salman Khan in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as Aman added to the emotions to the Love Triangle. Plays a charming and understanding character.

I”Om Shanti Om” surprised audiences with the star-studded song “Deewangi Deewangi”, featuring around 30-31 top actors, including Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The film itself had a memorable ensemble cast.


Sanjay Dutt did a cameo role in the film Jawan which was very impressive.

Stree 2 had Akshay Kumar’s cameo role that appealed to the masses and it contributed to the box office success.

In English Vinglish, Amitabh Bachchan on the flight to the United States of America was a hilarious cameo that made Shashi, essayed by Sridevi’s travel a memorable experience!! The legendary actor stole the show with his charm and wit.


Shah Rukh Khan Ranbir Kapoor surprised fans with his memorable cameo in “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, playing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-husband and bringing his signature charm to the scene.

Surprise Appearances That Stole the Show

If you are a Bollywood buff, you would have noticed the very sexy Kareena Kapoor in the 2015 blockbuster Gabbar is back. Alongside Akshay Kumar in the titular role, Kareena plays his wife and appears in flashback scenes. The couple looked so stunning together that it left the fans wanting more. Despite the brief appearance by Kareena in the cameo, it was a memorable and fans to date remember her for the small role that she essayed in the film.

Cameos That Left a Lasting Impression

Hrithik Roshan in the film Don 2 was a treat for the Bollywood fans. The iconic scene where Hrithik Roshan makes a stylish entrance as an ally helping Shah Rukh Khan’s Don escape is a memorable moment, showcasing the chemistry between the two actors and adding to the film’s success.

“Bollywood’s Cameos”

Aishwarya Rai’s glamorous dance performance in “Bunty Aur Babli” was a memorable cameo, while “Kal Ho Naa Ho” featured heartwarming moments and special cameos that added to the film’s magic.

Sanjay Kapoor as the husband of Sonali Bendre’s husband had a special appearance. Kajol made her iconic and delightful appearance during the dance Maahi Ve. The gorgeous Rani Mukherjee too made a special appearance and is seen dancing between Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan for a fraction of a second in the song Maahi Ve. Costume designer Anaita Shroff Adajania made her cameo appearance as Preity Zinta’s classmate Gita. Uday Chopra made a quick appearance as he made the announcement of Day 6! During the famous dialogue Chhe Din Ladkin. Rajpal Yadav’s comedy cameo as Guru in the blind date dinner scene is hilarious and unforgettable. Meanwhile, Farah Khan and Karan Johar’s surprise appearance in Jaya Bachchan’s restaurant scene adds an entertaining twist.

Superstar Akshay Kumar made a surprise entry with his stunning appearance in Stree 2. The fans celebrated his entry but were in speculation if he had a bigger role in the supernatural film.

Shah Rukh Khan made memorable cameos in “Saathiya” as the compassionate husband and in “Achanak” with his iconic line “Koi baat nahi, aisi badi budget shootings mein glass tuta rehta hai.”

Prabhas danced alongside Sonakshi Sinha in “Action Jackson” (2014). Rajinikanth made a memorable cameo as Chitti in “Ra.One” with Shah Rukh Khan. R. Madhavan had a brief appearance in the film “Zero” with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.


The veteran Telugu Superstar Nagarjuna did a cameo role in two films, Zakhm and LOC Kargil by J.P. Dutta’s magnum production film.

“Stars in Unexpected Roles”


Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s “Current Laga” in “Cirkus” was electrifying, while Anushka Sharma’s special appearance in “Qala” with “Ghody Pe Sawaar” was a nostalgic treat. Her brother, Kamlesh Sharma, produced the Netflix film starring Triptii Dimri and Babil Khan.
