Bollywood’s 2025 and 2026 are packed with sequels and some of the major anticipated films Include Border 2 to be released in January 2026, Mardaani 3 In February 2026, Dhurandhar in March 2026, Drishyam 3 in October 2026, Bhediya 2, Welcome To The Jungle, Dhamaal 4 and Awarapan 2. These films have mostly covered war, crime, comedy and thrillers, while its first installment has promised a strong return of its sequel after its success. The sequels that are much awaited have big stars like Sunny Deol, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgnan, Rani Mukerji and the makers are aiming to create the magic all over again on the big screen.

Border 2
A war drama legacy of the 1997 has its sequel set for its release on 23rd January 2026 has the classic stars such as Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.
Mardaani 3
Has Rani Mukerji who returns as the fierce cop Shivani Shivaji Roy to handle one of the toughest cases. The film is slated for its release in February 2026.

Dhamaal 4
After the success of the Total Dhamaal series by director Indra Kumar, he announced the fourth installment in the franchise with Ajay Devgn as the IRS officer involved in the high stakes white collar crime investigations against a corrupt politician. Is the chaotic comedy series which is expected its release in June 2026, starring Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh. Earlier it was slated for its release for Eid on March 20th 2026.
Pati Patni Aur Who 2
Featuring the new star cast with Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh. Ayushmann will be playing the role of the Pati while Vamika Gabbi is the Patni and Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh as the Woh in the mentioned film. This comedy franchise is slated for its release in 2026. The sequel is to the 2019 hit film Pati Patni Aur Who starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. Directed by Mudassar Aziz who had previously directed the original film.
Welcome to the Jungle /Welcome 3
Is the series coming up with its third franchise. The popular comedy returns with its original star cast and is targeting July 2026 for its release. Akshay Kumar is to lead a massive 34 actor ensemble in this third installment.
Bhediya 2
The sequel from its earlier production of the horror comedy. Starring in the Maddock’s Supernatural Universe was earlier slated for August 2026 but the makers might shift the date with the new characters of vampires likely to be added to the expanding universe.
Drishyam 3
To be released on October 2nd 2-026 is the much anticipated and most likely the final chapter of the gripping thriller series is bringing back Ajay Devgn reprising the role as Vijay Salgaonkar and is expected to release along with its Malayalam version.
Animal Park
Is the sequel of Sandeep Vanga Reddy’s Animal of 2023. Scripted to be Animal 2 will again star Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol. Bobby Deol who proved to be the USP of the film, although his character dies at the end of Part 1, the Animal Park or Animal 2 is a much anticipated sequel of the 2023 Animal which was a Bollywood blockbuster. The story is said to continue with Ranbir Kapoor and the filming is expected to start only in 2027 and some of the parts of the film featuring Bobby Deol in a role of an impactful villain is said to likely be on a larger and grander scale potentially involving multiple parts like The Godfather.
Golmaal 5
Though there hasn’t been an official release as yet the next film is suggested to go on floors from March 2026 and aims for its release in 2026 itself. The details are not yet revealed but the film is to be directed by Rohit Shetty. There is a potential involvement of the stars, Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan who indicating a release in 2026.
Brahmastra Part 2
Dev has been officially announced for its release in December 2026. Director Ayan Mukerji announced that both parts the second and the third part of the trilogy is being developed for the 2026 and 2027 releases which respectively will focus on the character of Dev in the film.
Last but not the least in the order of the films to be released in 2026 is, Lukka Chuppi 2, the romantic comedy starring Varun Dhawan and Sharvari Wagh. The delay is by six to eight months with the pre-production pushed to early 2026 due to the director Laxman Utekar’s commitment to other projects. The film is supposedly aiming with a rushed sequel and the plans will be finalized by late 2026.
