personalities became his staunch followers who made Rajneesh their Guru, their
mentor, and one of them was actor Vinod Khanna. At the crucial time of his career, he left
Bollywood and went to America to join the Rajneesh Osho Ashram and became a
Sadhu.
When he
lived in the Osho Ashram, Vinod Khanna had to face a lot of difficulties every
day. He had to wash vessels in the kitchen, he had to clean the toilets and
sometimes he had to also water the plants in the gardens and also serve the
visitors who visited the ashram. He went through a tough time.
Vinod Khanna’s spiritual pursuit led him to leave his thriving film career. His decision to follow Osho affected his family, including his first wife and two young sons. Producers also suffered losses due to his sudden departure from projects. His son Akshaye Khanna was only 5 then.

Khanna’s luck was in his favor. His fans had not forgotten him in those five
years that he was away from Bollywood.
