She was the daughter of stage and film actress Naseem Banu. Once, when she was about 12 years old, she had attended a film party with her mother where she had met Dilip Kumar for the first time, and she couldn’t take her eyes off him. At that time Dilip Kumar was 37 years old.
He treated her like a little kid, taking her on his lap like one would take a little doll. For Saira Banu, it meant the world to her for all the attention she got from Dilip Kumar, as he was her idol, and that day was one of the happiest days in her life.

The premiere was a big hit and was conducted with a lot of fanfare at Mumbai’s most famous cinema theatre, Maratha Mandir.
