Mehmood’s Realistic Visualisation
You would be surprised to know that this song was visualized by Mehmood due to a real life incident. It so happened that Sunil Dutt in the 60’s would go to Ladakh in the army camp to entertain them.
With him many other stars of the film industry would accompany him sothat more actors perform to entertain the soldiers. Sunil Dutt invited Kishore Kumar to Ladakh, but Kishore initially refused due to stage fright. Though convinced to go, he remained fearful of performing publicly. The question remains: did he sing for the soldiers?
Sunil Dutt advised a fearful Kishore Kumar to lip-sync on stage with Dutt’s photo. However, seeing the audience’s joyous response to his voice, Kishore’s fears vanished. He then sang live. This incident inspired Mehmood to create a comedy scene in Padosan, which the public adored, making the song a multi-decade super hit.
