Ketan Mehta, Deepa Sahi’s husband, known for realistic films such as Mirch Masala, Holi, and Sardar, shot the bedroom scene realistically. Although, the film flopped, the ‘hot’ scene became a major talking point in media and amongst the audiences.
Media during that period sensationalized a love scene. A Cine Blitz reporter allegedly wrote fake news, claiming Deepa Sahi and Shah Rukh Khan spent a night together for realism. Enraged, Shah Rukh Khan threatened the reporter, leading to his arrest, though her later regretted his actions.
