Film legend V Shantaram is regarded as one of the pillars of Indian cinema. His film Do Aankhen Barah Haath holds the distinction of being the first Hindi feature film to win the prestigious Golden Globe award. It won in the under the Samuel Goldwyn category. The officers reforms six convicts in an open plot, transforming them into good, law-abiding citizens through love and affection.
