Ramlal’s son. Mala learns her photos have been sent to a film magazine, potentially landing her film roles. She decides to run away and boards a bus to Goa, where she coincidentally meets Ravi Kumar, played by Amitabh Bachchan.
Mala witnesses Sharma, played by Shatrughan Sinha, killing Verma. Both men had encouraged her to join films. Sharma is now on the run, determined to kill Mala for being a witness. He boards the same bus as Mala, who is terrified. Ravi Kumar, her secret admirer, becomes her protector and saves her from Sharma’s repeated attempts to kill her. As they journey from Bombay to Goa, Ravi and Mala fall in love.
