Looking slim and perfect is almost a prerequisite today if you want to be a part of the glamorous film industry. No matter what role you play in a film, your body must be able to adapt to the physical transformations to suit it if you want to survive here. There are some Bollywood stars who did not always look as sexy and hot as we see them today. Some were so obese that one would never think they would have it in them to become future film stars. Here are some unbelievable stories of weight loss transformations that left everyone in awe!

Alia Bhatt

The gorgeous, slim and petite, sweetheart of Bollywood was once a chubby, overweight teenager who one thought had only one interest, that was eating. Alia soon became conscious of her weight when people started talking about it. The last straw was when Karan Johar offered her his film Student Of The Year only if she could lose a lot of weight and look perfect. That made the Gully Boy actress determined to shut down the critiques, and she lost 16 kgs to look like she looks today.

Arjun Kapoor

The son of famous Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor was perhaps destined to join the Hindi film industry, but with an obese body and no discipline over his eating, he hardly had a chance. The 140 kg flabby kid then went to Salman Khan for help, who guided him to lose a whopping 50 kg before he made his debut in YRF’s Ishaqzaade.

Sara Ali Khan

The cute daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh was not always this slim and trim. She was a huge girl as a teen, and apart from struggling with her weight, she also battled PCOS. The Coolie No 1 actress then decided to join films and lost all the weight by replacing pizzas with salads and fried chicken with healthy baked proteins and did intense workouts with some of the best trainers to achieve the look she has today

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at a young age and decided she needed to make some lifestyle changes ASAP. She was overweight and awkward, too. It was when Sanjay Leela Bhansali saw her beautiful face when she was working as his assistant director that he offered her Saawariya. It was, however, on the condition that she lost at least 15 kgs. Sonam worked hard to look this good and has never looked back since.

Sonakshi Sinha

With a beautiful face and lots of confidence, Sonakshi Sinha only had one flaw that stopped her from becoming an actress: her obesity. It was when Salman Khan asked her to drop oodles of weight to be part of his home production, Dabangg, that the actress took it seriously and worked hard under his guidance and advice.

Zareen Khan

This Katrina Kaif look-alike was famously called ‘Fatrina’ by trolls because of her overweight body. Zareen, however, took all the criticism in her stride positively and worked on herself. Today, the Aksar 2 actress is one of the hottest in Bollywood.
