They say an apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, thus, it’s no surprise that Bollywood actors see their children joining the same profession as them. There is, however, no guarantee that they will make it big. Neither is there a written rule that the star kids will fail miserably. But we have seen examples in both of these cases. We have some famous names listed here that not only became famous but also earned much more success than their predecessors.
Hrithik Roshan
He is the son of 70s popular actor Rakesh Roshan, who started his career with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. The movie was a blockbuster and paved the way for a new star in Bollywood. His father, however, had a very brief career and never really attained commercial success like his son has. The Khoobsurat (1980) actor then moved on to directing and producing movies instead.
Vicky Kaushal
Vicky’s father worked as a stuntman for Bollywood and later became an action director. He however, did not have as much success as Vicky did with his fantastic choice of films like Masaan, Uri: The Surgical Strike and Raazi, among others.
She is the daughter of 90s actress Soni Razdan and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. The former had a brief movie career, which included more arty and unconventional films. She never got much commercial success as a lead actress like Alia did in movies like Highway, Raazi, Gully Boy, among others.
Kareena’s parents were the 60’s stars Babita and Randhir Kapoor. The former had a film career that lasted about 6 years before she married into the Kapoor household. Randhir too didn’t attain any great success as a commercial film hero. Kareena, on the other hand, has not only become a superstar in her own right but also broken stereotypes in Bollywood.
Aamir Khan is the son of film producer Tahir Hussain. The 3 Idiots actor recalls as a child how people came knocking on their door every other day, as his father owed them a lot of money. The financial instability in the house was a result of Hussain’s unsuccessful movies. Aamir, on the other hand, has made a name for himself in Bollywood with his hard work and sheer determination, fighting against all odds to be the top actors of all time.
Son of actors Neelima Azeem and Pankaj Kapur, Shahid Kapoor had a dream debut with Ishq Vishk and never looked back. His movies like Kabir Singh and Udta Punjab are a result of his never-give-up attitude. His parents, however, never achieved commercial success in Hindi cinema.
