There are always high expectations from a talented actress like Aishwarya Rai, but not every film brings luck. Just as Salman Khan, unfortunately, since 2019, he has not given a single hit on the big screen. Aishwarya Rai had to face the same situation earlier. Some big-budget films or films made by renowned directors in her career failed to win the hearts of the audience.

The audience could not understand how the film flopped despite having such big stars. In this article, we will look at those 10 films for which there were a lot of expectations, but those expectations remained unfulfilled.

Aur Pyar Ho Gaya (15 August 1997)

Aishwarya Rai made her Bollywood debut with Bobby Deol in this film. The songs were hits, but the story was weak. The audience rejected the film despite its strong star cast.

Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (29 September 2000)

Aishwarya Rai debuted with Dhai Akshar Prem Ke with Abhishek Bachchan amid a lot of talk about Aishwarya and Salman Khan’s relationship. Interestingly, Salman also did a small cameo in this movie. But despite having so many famous names, the story of the film was nothing special, so it flopped at the box office.

Albela (20 April 2001)

‘Albela’, made with Govinda and Aishwarya Rai as the pair, was a unique love story. Few people visited the theatres when the filmmakers released the film, but later, many viewers watched it on TV and liked it to some extent. The story did not make much of a mark, and the result was that the film flopped.

Dil Ka Rishta (17 January 2003)

Aishwarya Rai and Arjun Rampal’s story was emotional and about finding true love. The audience didn’t love it much and let it fail at the box office, but they liked the film’s songs like ‘Dil Ka Rishta’ and ‘Aaina Sa Ye Dil.

Kuch Naa Kaho (26 September 2003)

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s Kuch Naa Kaho was a super flop with a simple love story, which could not connect with the audience. Despite good chemistry, this film could not stay in the theatres for long.

Kyun, Ho Gaya Na (13 August 2004)

Aishwarya Rai was in the lead roles in Kyun, Ho Gaya Na with Vivek Oberoi, Amitabh Bachchan, and Om Puri. But it was lacking in substance. So, the film did not make much of an impact at the box office, and slowly, people forgot about it.

Umrao Jaan (3 November 2006)

It was special to see Aishwarya as ‘Umrao Jaan’ after Rekha. But that most anticipated film did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Despite Aishwarya’s limitless beauty, her performance could not leave much impact. Abhishek Bachchan’s role was also dull. This was his fifth consecutive disaster film, which dealt a blow to his career.

Action Replay (5 November 2010)

This film showed Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar as a pair in a time-travel and retro style. The idea was new, but the story of the film seemed weak and boring. Some songs were successful, but the film could not captivate the audience. The result was that another film flopped.

Guzaarish (19 November 2010)

After giving a hit pairing with Hrithik in Dhoom 2, Aishwarya appeared in ‘Guzaarish’. But the audience did not understand Bhansali’s film much. The film flopped, and even after her comeback, Aishwarya could not give any hits.

Fanney Khan (3 August 2018)

Aishwarya made a comeback with Fanney Khan after a long break with very good co-actors like Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. But she couldn’t attract luck that time. The film did not work. Social media users widely mocked Aishwarya’s character and her colored hair. The film was so weak that it could not even recover its budget and turned out to be a disaster.

Beauty, glamour, and so much talent define Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. After winning the title of Miss World, when Aishwarya entered Bollywood, it did not seem that good at first. But now we understand, like every star, there were some turns in her career where, despite great expectations, the 10 films flopped miserably at the box office.
