A character inspired by Dawood Ibrahim the notorious underworld Don. In the 2026 spy thriller sequel, Danish Iqbal plays and elderly bedridden criminal with a mastermind in Aditya Dhar directorial sequel.
Dhurandhar released in 2025 was noted for its massive scale, intense action and Ranveer Singh’s performance as portrayal as Jakirat Singh Rangi alias Hamza Ali Mazari was widely praised for the range and the depth he performed his role. It is considered as one of the career’s best works. The electrifying and ferocious conviction in which he has portrayed himself was a vision and sharp controlled direction and screenplay by Aditya Dhar.

The character Bade Sahab is revealed to be a notorious underworld don. The role is portrayed by a seasoned actor, from alumnus of the National School of Drama (NSD) who is the ultimate mastermind behind the terrorist networking who serves as a superior to ISI Chief Major Iqbal essayed by Arjun Rampal.

Danish Iqbal’s identity was kept under wraps and was one of the biggest mysteries following the release of Dhurandhar in 2025 in which Bade Sahab was frequently mentioned by SP Chaudhary Aslam essayed by Sanjay Dutt. His reference was made often while they talk about him pulling strings from the shadows.
There was a misconception and suspense driven on the intense speculation as to who was going to play the role of Bade Sahab as viral leaks on platforms at one point of time even had suggested Veteran actors, Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi in the role. However, Aditya Dhar, the director of the film had chosen Danish Iqbal known for his performance in Dilshad Mirza’s Maharani 2.
Danish Iqbal in one of his interviews said he was kept in the dark about playing the pivotal antagonist role until it was close to the film’s release to maintain secrecy and the suspense. He had observed elderly patients in hospitals to master the body language and his voice as the old sickly man, yet a very powerful mastermind controlling the terrorist activities behind the scene.
The background score is by Shashwat Sachdev and the visceral action sequences are highlighted as one of the major strengths with its technical excellence that has also elevated the cinematic experience.
Fans and audience who have experienced the theatrical experience have described the film as gory and brutal featuring some shocking action scenes that are extremely intense and the ordeal more than the Dhurandhar released in 2025.
However, it does touch the emotional core unlike the action thrillers generally for its strong emotional depth and its unusually moving at the finale as it explores the protagonist’s identity and the trauma he has gone through.
The film is unapologetically steeped loud and clear, and one can resonate patriotism with nationalism with the current set of audience and their mood. But it’s truly a Masterpiece that surpassed all expectations by leaps and bounds.

Ranveer Singh the lead using his character in the sequel with more intensity, adds a shade of dark, more realistic coating to the spy narrative. Though the film is loud very gory and electrifying, it has set the box office on fire!
The film is already holding a box office tsunami grossing at an estimate of 100 crore on its preview day alone which makes it one of top three highest openings for an Indian film.

Aditya Dhar directed Dhurandhar in two parts, featured Ranveer Singh as the undercover Indian operations in charge. With the extensive footage with the total film made in seven hours, the film had to be split into two parts.

The Part 1 is Infiltration that follows IB Chief Ajay Sanyal essayed by R. Madhavan as he recruits Jaskirat Singh Rangi essayed by Ranveer Singh and in the covert mission in Pakistan he adopts the name Hamza Ali Mazari and infiltrates the Lyari underworld in Karachi. The first part ends with the death of the kingpin Rehman Dakait essayed by Akshaye Khanna and Hamza is back with his loyal gang.
Part 1 is the Annihilation that focuses on Hamza’s rise to power as the King of Lyari after the death of Rehman Dakati. In his quest for retribution against enemies to India, Jaskirat’s tragic flashback story in Pathankot and his direct confrontation with the master mind Major Iqbal essayed by Arjun Rampal, the sequel will conclude this mission, and returns to India but with his personal choice decides to remain away from his family to protect them.
The Key Narratives to Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge
Part 1 is revealing Hamza’s true identify as Jaskirat while Part 2 begins by him immediately delving into the emotional origins and his transformation.
In the first part, the Antagonist is the local threat by Rehman Dakait while the Part 2 shifts the focus on the larger geopolitical treat that is posed by Major Iqbal and the mysterious Bade Sahab.
