Until now we have seen and celebrated Amitabh Bachchan’s film series and here we start with his another famous and popular film Ram Balram released in 1980. A film directed by Vijay Anand starring the stalwarts of the Hindi film Industry, namely Dharmendra, and Amitabh Bachchan in the pivotal roles along with the supporting star cast in the female roles are Zeenat Aman and Rekha.

The film also marked the third film by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra after earlier two successful films like Chupke Chupke and Sholay. The film is said to have been one of the top grossing films of that year and was a super hit block buster.
The story goes as is Ram and Balram are two young boys who live with their parents. Jagatpal, a scheming uncle, kills their parents and deceives the two young boys into believing their parents died in an accident. Jagatpal decides to raise the boys for his own benefit.

He enrolls the younger brother Balram in a school to educate him and decides to make him the police officer while the elder brother Ram becomes a mechanic. However Jagatpal has a good hold on both the brothers ensuring they are dependent on him for their daily expenses.
Jagatpal decides to play the brothers against each other when Balram returns home as a full fledged police officer, he targets Ram to become the biggest smuggler in India and thinks Balram as the police officer will protect his brother. He harasses both the brothers and holds them at ransom but Balram informs his police force that his brother is going to be the informer to the police department of the activities conducted by the underworld.
Both the brothers have found their lady love. Jagatpal’s treachery unravels when their mother, presumed dead, returns after years, revealing the truth to her sons, Ram and Balram, who unite to bring him down The film ends on a happy note.
